Raft Challenge: Design It, Build It, Test It! (10-14)

In this unique team challenge, design and build your own raft, then test it on Upper Mystic Lake! The design of the basic raft components will be provided, including flotation, deck and outriggers. Build the basic components efficiently and there will be time to customize your design for steering and propulsion. Acera staff will provide guidance on basic carpentry skills, completing building tasks in a construction environment, and boating basics and safety. The student team will drive the customized design and testing of the raft. Transportation, life jackets and power boat support will be provided on race day. Students should be competent swimmers and comfortable in and around open water. Instructor: Josh Briggs, Acera Math and Engineering Teacher $775 — This class is now FULL. Live Action Role Play (LARP) (10-15)

Have you ever wanted to seek treasure and uncover the secrets of the universe? Battle brutal bandits, gruesome goblins and unworldly undead? Do you have what it takes to slay dragons, find your way through the dungeon and claim the ancient treasure? Step into an interactive theater world, armed with sword and sorcery. Become the hero you have always dreamed of and save the lands of Etheraz from the great shadow! Students may sign up for any number of weeks of LARP. Led by LARP Adventure Program $535

AM: SEEDS: Interactive Storybooks & Electronic Quilting (7-10)

Instructor: Alisha Panjwani. $350

AM: Architecture Series: Hidden Cities (7-10)

How do empty spaces relate to the objects around them? Can we hide something to reveal something? In this session, students will envision, design and cast an imaginary city or place. They will explore positive and negative space in design, mold making, scan, and the tactile qualities of various materials.  Instructor: Estee Hill, architect and educator. $325

PM: MakerArt: Printmaking (7-10)

Instructor: Chris Woodard. $275

PM: Improv Theater: Teamwork Meets Imagination (7-10)

In this theater class, students will learn a foundation of exercises to get in touch with the art of improvisational acting.  They will understand what it means to access your spontaneous, ‘Improv brain’ and step into the creative flow. Using their bodies as their instrument, they will explore character development, partnered scene work and ensemble building. The week will end with an Improv show for parents and friends.
