Spots in some classes still available!

We are having a great Summer 2017!

Join us for Chess Camp,The Science of Rocks in the Middlesex Fells, Intermediate Woodworking, Lego Robotics and more! We are having a great time building, making, exploring, discovering and creating at Acera, and some classes still have a spot or two open if you’d like to join.

You can browse classes via our main landing page by week, or starting from this schedule, which includes pricing. Registration details and forms can be found here.

For the first time, we will be offering programs specifically for 5 to 7 year olds this summer:  Woodworking Jr. (AM) & Computer Science: Scratch Jr. (PM) in week 5, July 10-14; and Minecraft Build Challenge (AM) and Robotic Explorers (PM) in week 7, July 24-28. A few offerings in weeks 10 and 11 are also open to students younger than 7.

Also, we hope you check out the new, strong middle school programs we’ll be offering throughout the summer, featuring workshops in Leadership, Astronomy, Architecture, The Power of Identity, Hamilton & Hip Hop and more.

At Acera, we offer challenging, fun, hands-on STEAM learning for children age 5 through 15. Summer sessions run in the morning (9 am to 1pm), afternoon (noon to 4 p.m.) and full day (9 am to 4pm), with late pick up available until 6 p.m.

In our hands-on learning environment, elementary and middle school children can nurture their natural desire to inquire, create, and innovate; and experiment with content and concepts usually reserved for older students–or not introduced during K-12 school years.

With emphases on critical thought, creative problem solving, and integration of content areas, our programs inspire all types of learners and thinkers. Students discover engineering, biotechnology, math, arts, theater, design, electronics, music, chemistry, physics, teamwork, friendships — and who they are: as individuals, learners, and collaborators.

For an example of how students can collaborate, design, build and learn at Acera, watch this PBS Design Squad video filmed at our wood shop session on Catapult Building last summer.

We look forward to a fun summer of learning, exploring, growing and making together!
